New family activities for Celtic Manor Resort
Celtic Manor Resort near Newport, South Wales, has revealed that more than £500,000 has been spent on the creation of new family activities ahead of the school summer holidays.
The resort - host venue of golf's Ryder Cup last year - has built a Forest Jump high ropes course and an Adventure Golf putting challenge facility. Forest Jump takes guests 12m (39.4ft) above the ground and through woodland adjacent to the main resort hotel, while a low ropes course for young children is also on offer.
Meanwhile, the Adventure Golf course will provide a challenge for people of all abilities and ages, which will involve putting a ball through, around and over a series of obstacles. Celtic Manor Resort chief executive Dylan Matthews said: "While golf and the Ryder Cup has grabbed the headlines, the resort has enjoyed record years for family and leisure bookings in 2009 and 2010."
Facilities at Celtic Manor Resort include two spas - The Forum Spa and Ocius Treatment Rooms - and two health clubs, as well as six restaurants and a shooting school.
