New football facilities unveiled in Salford
Five new football pitches have been unveiled at Salford Sports Village, Greater Manchester, following the completion of a £230,000 programme of improvements at the complex.
An existing training pitch and tarmac area have been converted into the new facilities as part of the scheme, with one seven-a-side pitch and four five-a-side pitches now available.
Salford City Council lead member for neighbourhoods Paula Boshell said: "The facility is ideally positioned to serve the many people that work in and around Greater Manchester."
The Football Foundation contributed £50,000 and Salford Community Leisure provided £180,000 towards the development.
