New football pitches for North Tyneside
North Tyneside Council (NTC) has revealed that local residents can take advantage of free taster sessions to mark the launch of new 3G football pitches in North Shields.
Four artificial five-a-side pitches and two 11-a-side synthetic pitches have been installed at the Parks Sports Centre, Howdon Road, with free sessions available on a first-come-first-served basis. Parks Sports Centre manager Tony Morrissey said: "The new surfaces give a much improved playing performance and increased safety compared to the old sand filled turf."
