New fund launched to celebrate the 2014 Glasgow Games
The four Scottish Lottery money distributors have come together to launch a new fund in celebration of Glasgow's hosting of the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
Celebrate, backed by Big Lottery Fund, Creative Scotland, Heritage Lottery Fund and Sportscotland, will offer funding support to communities across Scotland as they celebrate and are inspired by the event.
Celebrate has a budget of £4m and will make grants of between £500 and £10,000 to organisations across Scotland to come together to hold arts, heritage, sports and local community celebrations of the 2014 Games.
The fund will also support organisations and events that celebrate the diversity of the Commonwealth and create a legacy of community and Commonwealth connections.
It will support new and existing events and activities that mark the Games through arts, heritage, sports and local community celebrations.
Celebrate will also support local celebration events and activities which stimulate greater involvement in community activity and develop understanding of the Commonwealth.
Celebrations can be a single one-off event or activities which end with a celebration event.
