New gallery for North Lincolnshire Museum
A new archaeology gallery has opened at North Lincolnshire Museum in Scunthorpe, which aims to give visitors the chance to explore the county's human history.
A new interactive area is provided, along with new display cases and interpretation panels to showcase a range of local artefacts - such as the Winterton Roman Cup. Rose Nicholson, the museum's collections manager, said: "The Archaeology Gallery has been given a thorough makeover and we now have more space to exhibit fascinating items from our collection."
Funding was provided by Museums, Libraries and Archives Council Renaissance Yorkshire as part of the 2012 Ready programme.
