New head of sport for Salford Uni
The University of Salford has appointed James Crowley as its new head of sport and leisure.
Crowley will be tasked with managing and developing the university’s sports services for students and staff.
He will also be responsible for the university's Tom Husband Leisure Centre and the Castle Irwell sports campus facilities.
Crowley began his career in leisure in 1986 and in 1997 was appointed to develop and manage Edge Hill University's £4m Lottery-funded sports complex.
For the last three years he has been chair of the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) North West Executive Group.
