New home for Oxford Dance Forum
Oxford Dance Forum (ODF) is to unveil a new two-year, artist-led development programme after the group relocated to the city's newly-revamped Old Fire Station on 5 November.
The Home-bed project, which aims to benefit artists from Oxfordshire and across the region, is to officially launch in spring 2012 with the help of a £67,000 Arts Council England grant.
Several strands comprise the development programme, including the provision of "intensive training workshops" and a package of professional development for six artists each year.
One-to-one advice surgeries and a collaboration with a French aerial company that will lead to the provision of training in aerial work over a one-week period is also proposed.
As well as providing a hub for professional dance artists, the Old Fire Station also includes flexible performance space; dance studios; a gallery; and a social enterprise café.
Oxford City Council is also providing support to the Home-bed initiative, which is backed by Arts at the Old Fire Station and Pegasus Theatre.
