New joint schemes for Travelodge and Waitrose
Low-cost hotel chain Travelodge has confirmed that it is currently working on three mixed-use developments across England in partnership with supermarket group Waitrose.
The schemes are sited in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire; Sidcup; and Vauxhall, London, and represent an investment of £27m, with a further 25 other locations now being explored.
Travelodge chief executive officer Guy Parsons said: "Having a Travelodge and Waitrose on site offers an attractive proposition for consumers, developers and investors."
The first development scheduled for completion will be Sidcup, which will comprise an 84-bedroom hotel and will open in August 2012.
A 154-bedroom hotel is due to open as part of the Vauxhall scheme in November 2012 and an 81-bedroom property forms part of the Aylesbury development, due to open in late 2012.
