New leisure centre for Yeovil
A joint partnership scheme between leisure trust 1610, South Somerset District Council and a local school will result in the launch of a new leisure centre in Yeovil.
Following a £800,000 funding boost for the project, building work is expected to begin at Preston School in February. Facilities will include a new heath club, reception area and a multi-purpose dance studio as well as a sports hall and changing rooms.
The new dual-use facilities are due to open in September and will be managed by
1610.
