New play area to open in Coventry
Coventry City Council (CCC) has announced that a ribbon-cutting ceremony will mark the official opening of a new-look play area at Willenhall Wood today (2 June).
Lord Mayor Brian Kelsey will open the facility, which was designed following consultation with local residents and schoolchildren and has benefited from government Playbuilder funding. CCC play strategy manager Gennie Holmes said: "This is another project where the children and residents of Willenhall worked really hard with us to design something which is a real asset to Willenhall.
"Playing outdoors should be a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone and now children and young people of all ages have an exciting, natural play area to do just that."
