New play attraction for Whinlatter Forest
A new adventure trail designed for children aged between six and 13 years old is to open at the Forestry Commission's Whinlatter Forest, Cumbria, ahead of the Easter holidays.
Whinlatter Wildplay will feature eight separate play areas - including a fun car tyre swing; toddler play huts; a construction station; and a birds nest swing and suspension bridge. Timberplay and Sutcliffe Play are supplying the equipment, which is being installed with the help of European Union and Northwest Regional Development Agency support.
Paul Brown, Forestry Commission recreation ranger at Whinlatter, said: "The facilities we have developed at Whinlatter in recent years are absolutely fantastic and the Wildplay trail adds to this already excellent range of attractions within the forest."
