New public space to open in Nottingham
Nottingham City Council (NCC) has announced that a new public space will officially open at Sneinton Market Square on 10 December, following a major transformation of the area.
The space, which is located adjacent to the city's new Victoria Leisure Centre, will be able to host events, performances and activities, and forms part of the Connecting Eastside scheme.
It is hoped the revamp of Sneinton Market Square will also encourage further regeneration schemes, including the relocation of Dance4 to an all-purpose international centre.
NCC portfolio holder for planning and transportation Jane Urquhart said: "Citizens and visitors alike will be able to enjoy this new public space, along with the superb new state-of-the-art facilities at the new Victoria Leisure Centre when it opens.
"Together these projects will help to breathe new life into, and improve the economic vitality of the area."
