New regional director for Sport England
Matthew Delaney is to become Sport England’s new regional director for London.
Delaney, who has worked at Sport England for the past three years, will take up the post immediately.
With extensive experience of sports development, education and partnership working, Delaney will be working within the 33 London boroughs and other partners in order to deliver the London Plan for Sport and Physical Activity.
Delaney said: “I am delighted to accept the London regional director position. Since regionalisation, the London team has worked hard to deliver Sport England’s vision to start, stay and succeed in sport.
“As regional director, I will be working hard to drive up participation rates in both sport and active recreation, building partnerships across the capital, sharing best practice and offering great customer service.” Details: www.sportengland.org.uk
