New report forecasts positive impact of Edinburgh Zoo's pandas

Two giant pandas currently living at Edinburgh Zoo could attract £28m worth of additional visitor expenditure for the local economy, according to a new independent report.
Scottish Enterprise found the arrival of Tian Tian and Yang Guang could also deliver £20m worth of economic benefits to the wider Scottish economy over a 10-year period.
Businesses and operators that serve tourists - such as hotels, pubs and restaurants - are set to be among the direct beneficiaries of the giant pandas, along with airline staff.
The report also predicts that 55 jobs of equivalent working hours could be safeguarded and supported across Edinburgh, primarily within the leisure and retail sector.
Scottish Enterprise director of tourism Eddie Brogan said: "The study shows there is significant scope to build on the interest the giant pandas have already generated."
