New resort for Hengqin Island
Las Vegas Sands (LVS) has been selected by the Zhuhai Municipal Government of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) to begin planning construction of a 56.7 million sq ft (5.3 million sq m) resort to be located in the Guangdong Province city of Zhuhai.
The Hengqin Island resort will include five-star hotels, convention facilities, a marina and yacht club and an outdoor amphitheatre and will be located near to Las Vegas Sands’ Venetian Macao Hotel Resort Casino, which is currently being built on the Cotai Strip in Macao.
