New scheme to promote the Heart of England
A new joint marketing campaign - Heart of England Adventures - has been launched in a bid to promote a number of visitor attractions across the West Midlands region.
The Key Attractions Group (KAG), which was set up in 2008, is comprised of a range of tourist destinations, including Ironbridge Gorge Museums, Alton Towers, Drayton Manor Theme Park, Warwick Castle and Cadbury World. Visitors will be provided with travel advice, ticket information and offers as part of the new campaign, which is being funded by KAG and the regional development agency, Advantage West Midlands (AVM).
Nigel Russell, AVM's head of tourism and culture, said: "National research shows that many Britons holidayed at home this year, and indications are that even more are planning to do so in 2010. "This campaign, aimed at showing visitors what's available to them in the Heart of England, is just what we need to tempt even more people and families to enjoy what we have on our doorstep."
