New skate/BMX park for Dorking
A new skate/BMX park has opened at Meadowbank recreation park in Dorking.
The new facilities, comprising a skate and BMX area, aerial swing and half court basketball/football area, have been funded by Mole Valley District Council and the Big Lottery Fund.
The new facilities have been designed with the help of a group of local children. The group worked to design a challenging park with a unique feature: the 'Dorking Gap'. This is a gap in the transition ramp between the two layers of the skate park. It can be jumped in many different ways, and cannot be found anywhere else in the country.
