New spa debuts at Callaway Gardens
A 13,000sq ft (1,208 sq m) new spa has opened as part of the new 150-bedroom Lodge development at Callaway Gardens in Georgia, US.
The Spa Prunifolia – named after the resort’s signature flower, the plumleaf azalea – is intended to reflect the resort’s long-standing commitment to the environment.
The spa has 13 treatment rooms, including a multi-treatment suite and a couples’ room with large soaking tub. There are also private relaxation lounges complete with fireplaces as well as a salon and cardiovascular studios, all designed by JGL Spa Design & Consulting.
All treatments use Naturopathica and B.Kamins product lines, with many of the ingredients for therapies found within the Callaway Gardens. Signature therapies will include the Mountain Escape Soak and Post-Round Massage for golfers.
There is also an apothecary in a separate rotunda area, displaying herbs from the spa treatments such as rosemary, thyme, lavender and basil, and providing a platform for therapists to educate guests about the purpose and result of their chosen treatment.
Located an hour south-west of Atlanta, Callaway Gardens is a public garden and resort located on 14,000 acres in the Appalachian foothills at Pine Mountain. It boasts year-round gardens, forests and two golf courses.
