New sports booking app launched for London
MyLocalPitch, which offers Londoners the chance to search and book sports sessions, has expanded its services by launching an app to better cater for people wanting to book facilities “on-the-go”.
Applying the location of users, the app will be able to provide information on available pitches and courts across 14 different sports – including football, tennis, netball, basketball and squash.
According to Jamie Foale, CEO of MyLocalPitch, the launch comes as a response to visitor data from the existing MyLocalPitch website. Half of visitors to the website have been on mobiles and tablets – with people regularly trying to organise matches when travelling to and from work.
“Our audience have been telling us that they want to be able to book more easily when on the move,” he said. ”The MyLocalPitch app will allow them do just that.”
MyLocalPitch launched in January 2014 and so far has added more than 1,000 venues onto the database. The service has around 35,000 unique users per month.
The app can be downloaded from the Apple's App Store.
