New sports facilities for Gloucestershire school
Maidenhill School in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire, has unveiled its new dual-use sports and drama facilities, which will be used by pupils and the local community.
The £2.5m scheme has included a new and improved sports hall, which boasts a gym; dance studios; a fitness suite; four badminton courts; and two netball courts. Five-a-side football pitches; trampolining facilities; and a performing arts area are also now available at the school, with funding provided by Gloucestershire County Council (GCC).
Kier Moss Construction was responsible for delivering the new facilities, which will be run by Stroud District Council outside school hours. GCC cabinet member for schools Jackie Hall said: "These improvements will make a big difference to the pupils and staff at Maidenhill and the local community will be able to benefit from the excellent new sports and drama facilities too."
