New tourism awards launched in north east
One NorthEast and VisitBritain have teamed up to launch the first North East England Tourism Awards.
Among established categories such as best hotel and best website, the competition features four new sections exclusive to the region, including ‘most welcoming experience’ and ‘best innovation in tourism’.
Entries are being sought now and the awards will be presented in a ceremony at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland on 19 October.
Winners in a number of categories will automatically go on to represent the north east in the national Enjoy England Awards for Excellence 2005/6. Details: www.tourismnortheast.co.uk
