New £800,000 pavilion for Woodmansterne

A new £800,000 pavilion has been unveiled by Reigate and Banstead Borough Council (RBBC) in Woodmansterne, Surrey, as part of a wider scheme to improve leisure facilities across the area.

The new complex, which will be used by Woodmansterne Sports Club to replace its former building, features a six-team changing room with disabled access and officials' changing facilities, as well as toilets. A Football Foundation (FF) grant contributed 49 per cent of the total capital cost of the scheme, while RBBC provided the rest of the funding through its Pavilions Improvements Project.

London-based Baily Garner was responsible for the design of the venue to meet Football Association (FA) requirements for modern changing facilities, while the Caterham-based construction firm, Farnrise Construction, delivered the scheme. Adam De Save, RBBC's executive member for leisure and wellbeing, said: "This has been a true partnership project between the borough council, which owns the land; Woodmansterne Sports Club, which leases the facilities and carries out the day to day management of the site and the Football Foundation, which provided half the funding that helped to make the council and club's vision into a reality."
