New £8m hotel concept to open in Clerkenwell
A 2,500sq m new hotel and restaurant called The Zetter will be opening in Clerkenwell, east London, on 1 April 2004.
Constructed by Mark Sainsbury and Michael Benyan’s Urban Hotels company, The Zetter is costing a total of £8m to build and is housed in a 19th century warehouse which was formerly the Zetter’s Pool building.
The 59-bedroom hotel has interior design from Precious McBane, whose strong architectural theme transposes the old against the new.
Spanning five floors, other features of the hotel will include a modern Italian restaurant set around a curved black marble bar plus two private dining rooms which can cater for between 10 and 50 covers.
It will also boast a boardroom and conference room.
The philosophy of The Zetter is to provide ‘good quality at sensible prices’, coupled with a ‘high standard of professional and friendly service alongside close attention to design and comfort’. Details: www.thezetter.com
