Newbury museum funding application submitted
An application for £1.2m worth of Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) support towards the redevelopment of West Berkshire Museum in Newbury has been submitted by the local authority.
The project, which has been allocated more than £800,000 by West Berkshire Council, is set to include a restoration of the Cloth Hall and Corn Stores to create more visitor facilities.
In September 2010, the scheme received a first-round pass from the HLF and, last summer, it was announced that architects Buttress Fuller Alsop Williams had been appointed.
