Newport pool opening delayed
The refurbishment of Medina Leisure Centre in Newport on the Isle of Wight has been delayed after additional works were discovered during the revamp.
The pool, which was supposed to open at the end of this month will now open 13 August instead.
Work to re-tile and upgrade the pool have been completed on time, however extra work is needed to finish the wet-side changing rooms including roff work and extra drainage being installed.
The final phase of the Medina refurbishment, which will see the foyer upgraded, has not been affected by the delay and will begin 13 September as scheduled.
