Erewash Borough Council (EBC) has confirmed that the refurbishment of the Victoria Park Leisure Centre in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, has now entered the second phase.

Work on the first phase has now been completed, with facilities available during the second to include the teaching pool only; village-style changing areas; and disabled changing areas. A new sauna and steamroom with relaxation area are also now available, as well as the a new café and reception area and a multi-purpose room.

The main swimming pool hall and the remainder of the changing rooms will undergo work as part of the second phase, which is due to run until 9 October. Victoria Park Leisure Centre will then close between 10 and 16 October to prepare for the full reopening of the new-look facility on 17 October.
