Next stage of Stirling park scheme underway
Stirling Council has announced the start of work on the second stage of an £80,000 project to help enhance the town's historic Kings Park.
The local authority's land service gardeners have embarked on a planting scheme in order to enhance the south gate entrance, following the completion of the first phase. Stage two will also see Land Engineering (Scotland) undertake work to level and reseed the events area, before resurfacing the two football pitches in March 2011.
Stirling Council land services manager Nicole Paterson said: "This second phase of improvement works will enhance the park experience for all visitors and park users. "It builds on the work carried out in phase one - all identified as priorities by the public during the master plan consultation."
The first phase included a new footpath link between the main path and the pedestrian gate at Victoria Place, the installation of new seats and cycle racks, and the widening of the main path.
