Non-profit trust to operate Derby museums?
A report due to go before Derby City Council's (DCC) cabinet on 6 September has backed the establishment of a new non-profit trust to operate the city's museums.
According to the report, the establishment of the trust could take place by 1 April 2012, with the move to allow "quick decisions to maximise funding and partnership opportunities".
Meanwhile, the report also indicates that a new model of delivery for Derby Museums could also be extended to incorporate leisure facilities; libraries; and performing arts and events.
