North Country Leisure scores with new goalposts
North Country Leisure has secured a grant of £800 from the Football Foundation to replace old football goalposts at Wentworth Leisure Centre.
The cash is coming from the Foundation's Goalpost Safety Scheme.
Since 1991, nine young footballers have tragically been killed in the UK by unsafe goals and many more have been seriously injured by posts and crossbars that fail to meet even basic safety standards.
A spokesperson for North Country Leisure said: "This funding towards new, safer goalposts is a fantastic boost. Football is our national sport and it is great that the Football Foundation is investing in improving the grassroots of the game."
