Nottingham goes Sausage crazy
A new, independent restaurant and bar concept called Sausage is scheduled to open at the end of February in Nottingham.
Situated in the CornerHouse leisure development within the city centre, the 250sq m, 75-cover restaurant intends to be a fun food and drinks venture ‘with distinct Bavarian overtones’.
The menu, unsurprisingly, will be predominantly sausage-based, although vegetarian options will also be available, while there will also be up to 50 international beers on offer.
The design, by Philip Watts, has been injected with a dose of irony and the consultants were given total freedom to create Sausage’s interior, which mixes a canteen and lounge effect complete with humorous, oversized graphics.
While the Nottingham site is the first Sausage to open, the owners believe there is good future rollout potential for the brand as it doesn’t have any geographically near rivals and can fit into a variety of different site locations. Details: www.philipswattsdesign.com
