Notts County set for takeover
Notts County Football Club (NCFC) is to be acquired by a consortium of businessmen based in the Middle East after the club's board of directors accepted an undisclosed offer on 2 June.
Financial checks are being carried out before the deal can be completed, which will see Munto Finance take complete control of one of the world's oldest football clubs, although full approval is still required from all of the club's shareholders. NCFC chair John Armstrong-Holmes said: "The club board discussed Munto's proposal, which was accompanied by proof of funds, and unanimously agreed to recommend its acceptance to all shareholders.
"Two of the Munto group, Peter Trembling and Peter Willett, were appointed to the club board with immediate effect to assist in the process."
