November debut for Gwinganna Australia
A new Spa Sanctuary is due to open by November 2007 within the Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat on Queensland’s Gold Coast, Australia.
Costing approximately AUS$4m (US$3.1m, E2.4m, £1.6m) to build, the spa will cover 12,900sq ft (1,200sq m) and has been designed by architect Poune Design.
The spa will boast 33 treatment rooms alongside a dedicated manicure and pedicure salon, two double rooms, two private chillout rooms, an aromatherapy relaxation lounge, single and double bath suites with bath concierge and an amethyst steamroom. There will also be a spa garden featuring a meditation platform and a pond.
Construction of the spa’s signature suites – comprising a standalone building cantilevered over a billabong – is scheduled to be completed next couple of months and a signature treatment has been especially created to take place in two of these suites.
Treatments will blend eastern and western styles while products used are certified organic by PHYT’s from France, and will also include Australia bush flower essences in some therapies.
The signature treatment for two people will utilise both indoor and outdoor components and take four hours to complete, featuring meditation, healing sounds and a body scrub.
