Nürburgring attraction opens
A new 150,000sq m indoor theme park, named RingWerk, has opened at the Nürburgring racetrack in Nürburg, Germany.
The 2.3m euro (£1.9m) park is made up of 10 core attractions: interactive driving experiences using simulation where you can qualify to drive in a truck race; a 4D theatre where guests experience the 24-hour race on the Nördschleife circuit; a shoot 'em up dark ride; a fully immersive revolving theatre showing the legend of the Gr?ne Hölle (Green Hell); a trip on N?rbus, a bus tour of the track in a fully immersive simulation; a rollercoaster, as well as other attractions.
The UK-based firm DJ Willrich was contracted to complete the detailed design of the audio visual systems and the complete show control, and undertook the installation of the AV and installed and programmed the show control systems.
The company won a Highly Commended award in the International category at the recent 2010 Museums & Heritage Awards.
