O’Neal adds personal touch to 24 Hour Fitness club
Four-time NBA champion Shaquille O’Neal has teamed up with 24 Hour Fitness CEO Mark Mastrov to open the second 24 Hour Fitness Shaq Sport club.
Located in Pembroke Pines, Florida, the 4,090sq m (44,000sq ft) club features two racquetball courts, a basketball court and practice court, pool, whirlpool, sauna, steamroom and cycle room.
It also offers the latest in exercise classes and an expanded kids’ club with video games, televisions, air hockey, basketball, a space maze and a toddler play area.
O’Neal’s signature touches include Miami Heat team memorabilia, recordings of his voice to motivate members and a shower large enough for the 7’1” star.
“Working with Shaq has been one of the most exciting partnerships this company has been involved in. Shaq represents the perfect blend of fun and excitement through fitness,” said Mastrov.
