Shire Hotels has sold the Oaks Hotel in Reedley near Burnley, Lancashire, to North West-based hotel operator Stefan Sikorski for £3m.

The 19th Century hotel boasts 51 bedrooms, five function rooms, a health and leisure club and a restaurant and bar.

Ian Harkness, managing director of Shire Hotels, said: “The sale of the Oaks Hotel will enable us to concentrate specifically on our strategy of growing a branded portfolio of modern four-star hotels across the UK.”

David Blythe of Christie & Co, the estate agent behind the deal, added: “The sale of the Oaks Hotel kickstarts what we hope will be another bumper year for hotel transactions in the North West.”
