ITV to stop broadcasting in support of sport
ITV will be switching off all of its channels for one hour next week to encourage people to go out and take part in a sporting activity.
The broadcaster and the National Lottery have joined forces to get people active in celebration of the homecoming of Great Britain's Olympic athletes.
I Am Team GB will take place on Saturday 27 August and feature thousands of free events across the country. The organisers are dubbing the event as the “nation’s biggest ever sports day”.
The event is supported by a host of olympic athletes, including triathlete Alistair Brownlee and long jumper Greg Rutherford among others.
Participants can find out what activities are happening near them by submitting their postcode in the event finder at www.iamteamgb.com
