Online 'personal trainer' service launched
A new online fitness application, www.iexerci.se, is offering users a training and monitoring tool which aims to offer services and guidance traditionally provided by personal trainers.
The website boasts fitness video training programmes - designed by fitness professionals - progress trackers and a real-time forum for feedback and tips.
The exercise modules are supported by nutritional guidance and a food diary populated with thousands of foods which customers can use to construct healthy meals while monitoring their calorie, carbohydrates and fat intake.
The service is the brainchild of founder and CEO Phil Crosby, a former personal trainer.
"I saw how difficult it can be to find a training programme that works", he said.
"I developed iexerci.se to help people to understand what works for them. Simply keeping track of what you're eating and how much exercise you're doing gives you the motivation to stick to your regime, increase your training and achieve the goals you set yourself."
Crosby added that the resource has proved popular within the NHS and Primary Care Trusts, which use the service as a tool in health and fitness clinics.
The service is based on an annual membership fee of £29.99.
Crosby is looking to expand the service outside the UK during 2011.
