Opening of Stoke Mandeville Stadium
Stoke Mandeville Stadium, the national stadium for wheelchair sport, is to open on 1 March, managed by Leisure Connection on behalf of the British Wheelchair Sports Foundation (BWSF).
The stadium which offers facilities to community customers and event organisers as well as disabled users, includes a 12-court sports hall, 25m swimming pool, athletics track, indoor bowls arena, a Harpers Fitness Club and a dance studio. There is also a restaurant, training and conference centre, café/bar and a purpose built cr'che.
A 100-bed Olympic Lodge hotel offers 'affordable' accommodation for the general public and users of the stadium. Details: www.stokemandevillestadium.co.uk
