Marriott partners with Washington Redskins owner for Orlando luxury hotel
Hotel giant Marriott International has signed a deal to operate a luxury hotel and spa in Orlando, Florida on a plot close to the city’s famous theme parks.
Set to open during Q1 2020, the 516-bedroom JW Marriott Orlando Bonnet Creek Resort will be owned and developed by Florida-based developer DCS Investment Holdings.
DCS is owned by Dwight C. Schar, co-owner of the National Football League (NFL) franchise Washington Redskins.
Aimed at the luxury family market visiting Orlando and its attractions, the hotel will house a large spa with 10 treatment rooms, a health club and wide range of restaurants and bars.
The property will be built on the last available site zoned for hotel use in Bonnet Creek, a 482-acre, mixed-use resort community near Orlando’s popular theme parks.
It will be operated by Marriott’s operations arm, Managed by Marriott (MxM).
