Oxford Ice Rink set for £700,000 revamp
Oxford Ice Rink is to close on 15 November in order to undergo a three-week improvement programme to be undertaken by the local authority.
Oxford City Council is to invest more than £700,000 to upgrade the venue, which will see a new refrigeration unit installed and changing and shower facilities enhanced. A new rink barrier and new rubber matting will also be provided as part of the project, in addition to "high-level" maintenance to the ceiling area.
OCC board member for leisure partnerships Bob Timbs said: "[Oxford Ice Rink] is a much loved facility and we are pleased that this work is being carried out to ensure the smooth running of the rink for many years."
