PGAV to devise masterplan for US attraction
PGAV Destinations has been appointed to draw up a new Museum Master Plan for Patriots Point - a visitor attraction located in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, US.
The site is currently home to the Second World War aircraft carrier, USS Yorktown and the Congressional Medal of Honour Museum. PGAV's new masterplan for the site will focus on 36 acres (15 hectares) of land around the vessel in a bid to establish the ship as a "nationally prominent cultural destination".
Patriots Point Foundation president Bob Simons said: "We are looking to create an even bigger educational, tourism, and economic resource for the state of South Carolina." PGAV will be working alongside Robert Wilburn of The Wilburn Group of Reston, Virginia, and Chris Cavanaugh of Magellan Strategy Group of Asheville, North Carolina.
