PGL acquires Swindon hotel
Children's activity holiday provider PGL has acquired The Liddington hotel and conference centre near Swindon, Wiltshire in a deal worth around £10m.
The 192-bedroom hotel is set in 150 acres and facilities include 45 meeting/conference rooms, an outdoor sports pavilion, and a restaurant.
PGL will transform the site into one of its activity centres, offering children activity breaks. The group currently operates 18 such centres in the UK, as well as eight further sites in France and one in Spain.
The Liddington was put up for sale by administrators Grant Thornton after the centre went into administration. It was owned by De Vere Venues. Christie + Co acted for Grant Thornton on the sale.
