PPH&R to open second Whistler hotel
Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts (PPH&R) group is to open a £21.5m ($23m, €30m) boutique-style property in Whistler British Columbia next March.
The Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre will offer 82 rooms and join the existing Pan Pacific Mountainside Hotel at the Canadian resort and will offer all-suite accommodation.
Aiming to offer a more intimate stay, with rooms ranging from studios to three bedroom suites, the hotel is within walking distance of ski-lifts and cable cars.
Other amenities at the Village Center will include a 75ft lap pool, two hot tubs, a spa and treatment facilities, fitness rooms, private landscaped areas, an outdoor barbeque site and comprehensive meeting room service as well as ski storage at the mountain base.
PPH&R currently has a hotel portfolio consisting of 23 sites in 11 countries and includes15 managed properties and eight marketing affiliates. The next PPH&R hotel project in the pipeline will be a 160-room hotel in Seattle, which is due to open in the summer 2006. Details: www.panpacific.com
