PRS for Music promoting music in gyms
PRS for Music is encouraging more operators to look into the benefits of having music within their gyms and health clubs during the economic downturn.
According to a survey of 2,000 carried out by MusicWorks, 77 per cent of respondents said that a gym with music was more appealing than one without.
Meanwhile, 80 per cent of those questioned claimed that music helped in terms of gaining motivation in a gym.
PRS for Music is a not for profit organisation representing song writers, composers and publishers.
While it is a legal requirement for any establishment to play or use music in public areas, PRS argue that the cost of the licence is subsequently outweighed by the gain in revenue that can be achieved due to the construction of a more appealing environment.
A Music Licence from PRS for Music gives you the legal permission to use copyright music in your business or organisation. If your staff or customers listen to music on your premises, played by any means from live performance through to radio, TV, CD or via the internet, you need our Music Licence.
