Pandemonium at Drayton Manor
Drayton Manor Theme Park in Staffordshire, UK, is warning visitors to expect Pandemonium this season – the park’s latest £1m white-knuckle thrill ride from Fabbri of Italy.
Pandemonium sets out to give riders a new and disorientating perspective.
The world will turn upside down for 64 riders on two 32-seat platforms, which swing simultaneously through 360 degrees to a height of nearly 30 metres.
Passengers will experience a force of 3.8G as they pass each other fleetingly while flying in circles in the air.
For gentler fun, there is the new £250,000 Jolly Roger family boat ride, supplied by Zamperla. Both young pirates and their older captains can jump aboard, though they’ll need to find their sea legs as the boat twists and turns on the track.
Drayton Manor has invested a total of £2.5m for the 2004 season, which starts on 20 March. Further improvements include a new entrance gallery, as well as enhanced ticketing facilities and guest amenities. Details: www.draytonmanor.co.uk
