Paradise Park saving Tigers
During August, Broxbourne’s Paradise Wildlife Park in Hertfordshire will be hosting a month of fundraising to heighten awareness of the extinction danger that is currently threatening tigers in the wild.
Tiger Conservation Month (TCM) has been organised in association with the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA), 21st Century Tiger and the Wildlife Heritage Foundation, all of whom are committed to aiding ongoing tiger projects across the globe.
The latest conservation research suggests that there are only 5,000 tigers left in the wild and it’s also estimated that one tiger is dying every day.
The month of TCM fundraising has been primarily designed to provide desperately needed funds to ensure the continued survival of the remaining wild tigers.
Fundraising activities will include a collaboration with Fitness First gyms, where people can sponsor members to participate in an hour’s workout, and a sponsored cycle-a-thon, which will take place in the park every day throughout August featuring members of the public and celebrities.
Other scheduled TCM events will include a Frank’s Fight For Tigers campaign which is spearheaded by ex-world heavyweight boxing champion, Frank Bruno; an auction and a Stars and Stripes celebrity gala ball, alongside a multitude of other themed events and activities at the park.
