Parks seminar heads new conference programme
ISPAL’s new events team has unveiled a conference programme that draws the best from the past but takes the institute and the industry it serves firmly into the future.
Following the ISPAL board meeting on Tuesday 16 January, events director Sarah Parry was able to outline how her team will meet the needs of a diverse industry.
“In the next 12 months we will deliver more than 75 events, from the two-day Parks Seminar in September – hosted by our friends at the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham (LBBD), which will focus on updating delegates and providing quality networking opportunities – to a one-day training seminar on finance for non-financial managers, where the emphasis will be on essential upskilling.
“The Parks Seminar, themed ‘Just do it! Revolution not evolution’ is one of a series of specialism conferences we have in the pipeline and will challenge the assertion that ‘no one under 30 knows what a good park is’ and draw on good practice from hosts LBBD and around the UK.
"The partnership approach will underpin much of the new institute's activity and the value to both sides was underlined by Simon Farrow, group manager, parks and leisure development, LBBD."
“The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham is excited to be working with ISPAL on the first parks conference to be hosted by the new body,” said Farrow.
“This event, to be held on 11-13 September, will show how we can make parks management sustainable and drive up standards all round.”
