Partner appointed for Stourport development
A partnership comprising Clive Fletcher Developments and Thomas Vale has been selected to develop the former Lloyd's Garage Bridge Street site in Stourport-on-Severn.
The decision was taken by Wyre Forest District Council in conjunction with the Homes and Communities Agency and British Waterways, following a Europe-wide tendering process.
Part of the council's ReWyre regeneration initiative, the scheme aims to enhance the town's leisure offer linking the Riverside Meadows area with the historic canal basins.
Council leader John Campion said: "[This scheme] will increase its attraction as a visitor destination by making use of one of its heritage assets, the canal basins.
"At present few visitors get to experience the basins area as it is cut off from the main town; this development opportunity will open up pedestrian access to the historic core."
