Perkins steps down from RAS after decade in charge
Roger Perkins is to step down as chief executive of the Royal Agricultural Society (RAS) at the end of June after 10 years.
RAS president Rob Vickery said: “Mr Perkins has guided the organisation through a period of significant change including the relocation of the RAS and the Sydney Royal Easter Show from Moore Park to Sydney Olympic Park, and the subsequent growth of the Sydney Showground business.
“He has also played an integral part in setting up the RAS Foundation, designed to provide funding and educational opportunities for younger people who are living in or wish to work in a rural community.”
“The last 10 years have been an extraordinarily rewarding experience for me from a business and personal perspective,” said Perkins.
“The opportunity to be involved in Australia’s largest annual event and to see the dynamic growth in the organisation’s exhibition, catering and function business has been a major highlight in my career.”
