Places for People Leisure has announced that Carolyn D’Costa has been appointed to the company’s board as finance director.

Having most recently headed up finance at Places for People Leisure in her role as chief financial officer, D’Costa has been promoted to the position vacated by current CEO Sandra Dodd when she took over from Steve Philpott last year.

A chartered accountant, D’Costa has more than 14 years’ experience and formally took up her new role this week.

She said: “Places for People Leisure has an exciting future and I am delighted to be joining the board at this time where I aim to build on the solid foundations already in place and drive our corporate financial strategy in accordance with our overall objectives to create active places and healthy people.”

Places for People Leisure currently partners 36 local authorities, managing 113 leisure centres across England and has set its sights on continued growth throughout 2016.

“Carolyn has a wealth of experience in financial strategy and management and will continue to be a great asset to the business in her new role,” added CEO Sandra Dodd.

“We look forward to Carolyn’s continued involvement in maintaining our reputation as a high quality leisure management social enterprise and wish her every success in this future role.”
